Household Hazardous Waste Collection
Frontier Waste offers monthly pickups for household hazardous waste (HHW), including items such as paint, batteries, motor oil, and other household chemicals. To schedule a pickup, visit hhwsolutions.com. Make sure to select your city, add your details, and follow the instructions provided.
Collection Frequency: Bulk item collection will take place once a month, during the last full week of each month. Please note: a scheduled bulk pick up may not be on the same day as regular trash and recycling pick up. Monthly bulk collection schedules can be found on the City Events Calendar.
Scheduling a Bulk Pickup: To have your bulk items collected, you must contact Frontier Waste Solutions at 210-807-8555 to schedule your pickup. For best service, please be sure to call before 5:00 P.M. the Friday before the bulk pickup week. The bulk pickup week is the last full week of the month. Scheduling through the Frontier Waste Solutions website or mobile app is also available.
Bulk Pickup Day: Be sure to have your bulk items out and ready for pickup no later than 7:00 AM on your scheduled bulk collection day to ensure items are collected. Items should be placed at the curb in front of your residence, where they are easily accessible for pickup. Remember: your bulk pick up day may not be the same day of the week as your regular trash and recycling pick up.
Weight Limit & Bulk Collection
- Weight Limit: For each scheduled bulk collection, the total weight of the items you place at the curb cannot exceed 300 pounds.
- Accepted Bulk Items: Wondering what you can put out for bulk collection? Here’s a list of common household items that qualify:
- Furniture: Sofas, chairs, tables, and other large furniture items.
- Appliances: Ovens, dishwashers, washing machines, and dryers.
- Refrigerators: Refrigerators can be collected, but Freon must be removed by a certified technician. Make sure to provide proof of Freon removal when scheduling the pickup.
- Other: Yard equipment, bagged leaves, large, oversized cardboard boxes, and other items that are too large to fit in your garbage cart.
Examples of items that cannot be picked up include:
- Construction debris (such as leftover materials from home renovations)
- Hazardous waste (paint, chemicals, etc.)
- Tires and auto parts
If you have any questions about whether a specific item is eligible for bulk collection, feel free to contact Frontier Waste Solutions for clarification.
How to Prepare for Bulk Collection
Plan Ahead: Because bulk collection happens only once a month, plan ahead to make sure your items are ready and scheduled for the last full week of the month. If you miss the deadline to schedule, you’ll need to wait until the next month’s collection window.
Set Out Your Items Properly: All items for bulk pickup should be placed at the curb in front of your home in a neat, organized manner. Make sure they are clear of any obstacles (such as cars or mailboxes) to allow easy access for the collection crew.
If you are scheduling brush pickup at the same time, bulk and brush piles must be separated.
Weight Management: If you have more than 300 pounds of bulk items to dispose of, consider splitting the load between two months or contacting Frontier Waste Solutions for special assistance or additional services.
For questions, comments, or concerns regarding Bulk Collection provided by Frontier Waste Solutions, please contact them at 210-807-8555.
Frontier Waste provides brush collection services for Fair Oaks Ranch residents twice a year during the last full week of the designated month. Residents have the flexibility to schedule their collection at their convenience within this timeframe. Please note: a scheduled brush pick up may not be on the same day as regular trash and recycling pick up.
Scheduling a Brush Pickup
To request a brush pick up, residents must contact Frontier Waste at 210-807-8555 to schedule a pickup. For best service, please be sure to call before 5:00 P.M. the Friday before the pickup week. The pickup week is the last full week of the month.
Brush Collection Guidelines
- Volume Limit: Each collection allows up to 20 cubic yards of brush, approximately the size of a pile 15 feet long, 12 feet wide, and 3 feet high.
- Brush Placement: Be sure to have brush out and ready for pick up no later than 7:00 AM on your scheduled brush collection day. Brush should be placed neatly at the curb and should not exceed the specified limits. Remember: a brush pick up day may not be the same day of the week as the regular trash and recycling pick up day.
Important Notice
Brush eligible for pick is personally trimmed and severed parts of domestically cultivated trees and shrubbery, provided the total volume of trimmings do not exceed twenty (20) cubic yards in total volume per residential collection.
Brush trimmed by 3rd party contractors is not eligible for the monthly brush pick-up service. Residents who contract with tree or brush trimming services need to include hauling and disposal of waste as part of their contract.
For more information or to schedule a brush pickup, please contact Frontier Waste at 210-807-8555.
