City of Fair Oaks Ranch - Municipal Court
Please adhere to the following Rule of Court Conduct and Decorum:
Failure to follow these guidelines will prompt the Court to remove the Defendant from the courtroom until compliance is achieved.
- Everyone when entering the courtroom, must enter quietly without disruption. When it is your turn to be addressed the presiding judge will call you up.
- Proper clothing strictly enforced Inappropriate attire will not be permitted. Dress code will be enforced and may be subject to be removed from the courtroom.
- Avoid background noise Ensure your conduct environment is non disruptive.
- Avoid distractions Turn off and put away any and all distractions so your full attention is given to the proceedings (i.e. texting, social media, driving)
- Defendants are discussing personal matters in open court so these proceedings are NOT to be recorded.
- Proper respect for the Court process shall be adhered to at all times.
Court Rules
- No weapons, cameras, recording devices or any other electronic equipment allowed in courtroom
- No food, drink or tobacco products allowed in the courtroom
- No tank tops, halter tops, muscle shirts or T-shirts with indecent, obscene or profane word or language, graphics or illustrations allowed in the court room.
- No shorts, bare midriffs, baggy clothing or gang related clothing allowed in the courtroom.
- No caps, hats, bandannas allowed in the courtroom.
- No use of obscene or profane language will be tolerated.
- All cell phones, beepers, pagers and all other communicative devices must be turned off before entering the courtroom.
At your Court Appearance, you can (Class C misdemeanors Only):
Request a trial by Judge or Jury. The Defendant must appear in person at the Fair Oaks Ranch Municipal Court located at 7286 Dietz Elkhorn, Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas 78015.
Enter a plea of GUILTY or NO CONTEST. All pleas entered in open court are legal and binding, and defendants have the same rights and responsibilities as if the plea had been entered in open court.
Defendants who plead guilty or no contest at the Court Appearance have the same opportunities for payment plans, compliance dismissals, driver safety course, or deferred disposition.
Some case(s) may have a plea entered in which case you would only be speaking with the Judge.
PLEASE NOTE: While the Court will make every effort to handle your case(s), unfortunately that may not be possible in all circumstances.
In celebration of Municipal Court Week, the F.O.R. Municipal Court will host the 5th-grade classes from Van Raub Elementary School for an exciting and educational Youth Court Event. The students will step into the exciting world of justice and law through a fully interactive mock trial experience. Taking on key courtroom roles—including judge, prosecutor, defense attorney, bailiff, jurors, and witnesses—to learn firsthand how the court system works. To enhance the experience, the court will provide costumes and materials that will help students embody their roles and bring the courtroom to life. Trials will be live streamed to the city via YouTube so parents, teachers, elected officials, and the community can share in the excitement and celebrate our students’ learning experience.
