Municipal Development District Board of Directors
Mission
The Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas Municipal Development District (MDD) was created by Fair Oaks Ranch voters on May 7, 2011 in accordance with Chapter 377 of the Texas Local Government Code. The MDD’s mission is to approve funding for economic development, retention and improvement of the District, and for improvement of short and long term property values. Priorities for expenditure of resources are aligned to the City’s Comprehensive Plan and the MDD’s adopted Mission, Goals & Objectives. The MDD imposed a half of 1% of the General Sales Tax to their districts boundaries to finance projects beneficial to the district.
Membership/Qualifications
The Board shall consist of seven (7) Directors, each of whom shall be appointed by the City Council of the City. Each of the Directors shall be a resident of the City of Fair Oaks Ranch or a resident of the City of Fair Oaks Ranch’s Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Two (2) members shall be persons who are members of the Fair Oaks Ranch City Council and one (1) member shall be a person who is a member of the Fair Oaks Ranch Homeowner’s Board of Directors.
Terms
Each member of the Board shall be appointed and serve two (2) year staggered terms. (Local Government Code Section 377.051 (c))
Meetings
The Board meets four (4) times a year, generally the third (3) Wednesday of the month, at 4:00 PM. Changes to the schedule date and location may occur. Meetings are held in the Public Safety Training Room of the Fair Oaks Ranch Police Station at 7286 Dietz Elkhorn, Fair Oaks Ranch, TX unless otherwise stated on the meeting agenda. The President, or upon the President’s incapacity, the Vice-President, may call special meetings of the Board of Directors at such time as may be required.
