City Budget

The fiscal year of the City of Fair Oaks Ranch begins on October 1 of each calendar year and ends on September 30 of the following calendar year. Each year, the City develops a balanced budget with guidance from the Mayor and City Council, City Departments and the Citizens, in accordance with Texas State law and generally accepted accounting standards.
The budget process includes multiple phases, each of which requires joint effort by government leaders and City staff. The budget is the financial plan and policy statement for the fiscal year of operations that matches all planned revenues and expenditures with the program of services desired by the residents of the City.

The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report consists of management’s representations concerning the finances of the City. Management deems the enclosed data is accurate in all material respects and reported in a manner designed to present fairly the financial position and results of operations of all City activities and funds.
A Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) is a document that consolidates information from the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) to create an easy-to-read report for citizens. This report is designed to provide a summary of the City’s overall financial condition in a user-friendly format.
