Tivoli Way Drainage Project

UPDATE (June 6, 2025): The Tivoli Way Drainage Project is complete. City Public Works accepted the project as complete with the contractor on April 24, 2025.

The Tivoli Way Drainage Project was a significant infrastructure initiative undertaken by the City of Fair Oaks Ranch to enhance stormwater management in the region. This project addressed critical drainage issues that had been affecting the area, particularly during heavy rainfall. By intercepting and managing stormwater more effectively, the project goals were to mitigate flooding risks, protect properties, and improve the overall quality of life for residents.

Project Limits

The project took place along Fair Oaks Parkways, from the Windermere Dr. and Fair Oaks Parkway intersection to the Dietz Elkhorn and Fair Oaks Parkway intersection.

Key Objectives

  • Flood Prevention: The primary goal was to reduce the risk of flooding by improving the drainage system at key intersections.
  • Efficient Water Flow: The project ensured that stormwater is efficiently contained through an underground drainage system, minimizing surface water accumulation.
  • Environmental Protection: By directing stormwater into a natural creek via a concrete-lined channel, the project minimized the disturbance of existing surfaces and the need to add additional concrete infrastructure.
  • Community Safety: Enhancing the drainage infrastructure contributed to the safety and well-being of the Fair Oaks Ranch community, preventing potential hazards associated with flooding.

Project Scope

  • Area Inlets: Construction of multiple area inlets facilitate the capture of stormwater at critical points.
  • Underground Drainage System: A robust underground system was installed to convey stormwater away from residential and commercial areas.
  • Outfall Improvements: The drainage system outfalls west of the Dietz Elkhorn and Fair Oaks Parkway intersection, directing water flow along an existing concrete-lined channel.
  • Natural Creek Integration: The final stage of water flow will enter a natural creek, ensuring a seamless integration with the local ecosystem.
