The Alamo Area Council of Governments
(AACOG) has and maintains an ozone monitoring station within the City of Fair Oaks Ranch.
Ozone is a form of oxygen comprised of three oxygen atoms. Ozone is formed through chemical reactions in the presence of sunlight. Ozone is good in the stratosphere high above the earths’ surface because it filters harmful UV light, but in the troposphere (where we live) ozone is regarded as a pollutant and is a key ingredient of urban smog.
To find out more about ozone or to view the air quality forecast for the greater San Antonio area visit the AACOG website
on air quality. The AAGOC website also has information available regarding ridesharing and carpools.
