The City of Fair Oaks Ranch is located northwest of San Antonio and is in three Counties; Bexar, Kendall, and Comal. The City was established in January,1988. At that time, the City had a Town Marshall and contracted for its police protection.
The Fair Oaks Ranch Police Department was established by the City Council in November, 1992. The Department became fully operational on January 1, 1993. Initially the Department consisted of the Chief of Police and four Patrol Officers.
Today, the department consists of an authorized strength of:
- Team of (20) full-time Police Officers
- (1) Animal Control Officer
- (1) Administrative Clerk
Combined this provides conscientious and dedicated law enforcement and related services to the community.
